Welcome to the Saginaw City Directories 1866 - 1940. If you need help searching, please review the Search Instructions and Tips below. You will need Abobe Reader software to view these directories. Download this free from the Adobe Reader website.

Search Instructions

  1. Click in the text box under Keyword Search. Enter one or more keywords such as a name or address. (Ex. 123 Main Street)
  2. Click on Search or use Filter by Date or Search Type menus for more choices.
  3. Choose the range of years to filter under the Filter by Date menu
  4. Search Type will search any or all the words, depending on your choice. When searching, it is helpful to put quotations around the search term for an exact match, example: "505 Janes" or "Hoyt, Jesse".

Tips

  1. Prior to 1883 there were few, if any, street addresses.
  2. In the 1891 city directory there were several street name changes, due to the merger of Saginaw City and East Saginaw. Many street name changes are shown in the street section of the directory.
  3. In 1934 many street addresses changed. If you are unable to locate the current address in the directories, contact the Local History & Genealogy department, and we will let you know if there was a change to the address in 1934.
